Frequently asked questions:

Q:How often should I see my dentist?

The Canadian Dental Association guidelines recommend visiting a dentist at least twice a year for a check-up and professional cleaning. Our office also recommends a minimum of two visits per year.

Q:What should I expect during my appointment at Simply Dental?

One of our staff members will compile your medical & dental history during your first visit. We can then examine your teeth & gums, screen you for oral cancer, and make the X-rays of your teeth as needed. After we review your dental profile, we will discuss a practical diagnosis with you. If treatment such as a root canal (endodontics), braces (orthodontics) or oral surgery is needed, we will plan to treat you within our office or refer you to a specialist. We can then discuss your options for treatment and fee payment and help you determine the best plan to fit your needs.

During your regular follow-up visits, we will examine your teeth and gums, screen you for oral cancer, clean your teeth and make plans for treatment, as needed. We will discuss any pain or issues you may be experiencing & answer any questions you may have.

Q:What does “painless dentistry” mean?

Painless dentistry is a means of ensuring your total experience at Simply Dental is as stress-free and pain-free as possible. We will discuss treatment options that may require no local anesthetic and whenever possible, alleviate pain by the means most comfortable to you.

Q:What if I have an emergency?

Please call our office or visit your local emergency room, as soon as you determine that you have a dental emergency. If you have a dental emergency during regular business hours, we will be glad to work you in to our schedule. For after hours, or the weekend and during holidays, please call our office and leave a message, we will call you back promptly.

Q:Are payment plans available for my dental treatment?

Yes. We accept many types of dental insurance and will process your claim.

Q:Can Simply Dental whiten my teeth?

There are several methods available for bleaching your teeth: at-office, overnight or daily. One session of at-office bleaching generally lasts 1.5 to 2.0 hours, while you read or relax during treatment. Overnight bleaching, we create a mouthguard that fits your bite, made from an impression of your teeth. The mouthguard is filled with a small amount of bleaching gel each day and you would wear it overnight or for a few hours during the day. The overnight bleaching process takes approximately 2.0 weeks. The results are stunning!

What our patients have to say about us:

Dr Latif gave me a capping and bridge – was very happy with the work done. All staff very friendly and didn’t feel pressured into getting work done that wasn’t needed.
Dental Patient

Dr. Latif is the best dentist I’ve been to by far. He’s never in a big rush, he always takes the time to explain things for you and is always happy to answer any questions. He takes care of your cleaning himself and is most interested in your oral health, not up selling.

Gregory Neilson – Patient

I hadn’t been to the dentist in years so not only was I scared about going, but nervous as to what he would say or how he would treat me. To my surprise he was polite, kind, and honest. His staff is amazing. The lady at the front desk; Joy, is probably one of the nicest receptionist out there and all doctors offices needs one of her. My teeth look and feel so much better without a lot of grief. I strongly recommend Dr. Latif’s practice.

Dr. Latif also specializes in working with geriatric patients, and was extremely helpful in assisting us in making a decision over what kind of dental care would be suitable for my very elderly mother. He discouraged the expensive and physically demanding bridge/root canal recommended by another dentist, confirming our suspicion that that kind of extensive work was simply too arduous for an elderly person. Plus he came to my mother’s home. An exceptional and honest individual. We highly recommend Dr. Latif, plus his staff was also very helpful and kind.
