Root Canal
Endodontics is a dental practice used by your Vancouver dentist for “treating the inside of your tooth,” it is more commonly referred to as a “root canal”. With Simply Dental’s advanced techniques, materials, and anesthetics, the root canal proceedure is a comfortable experience. In his Vancouver office, Dr. Amro Latif uses the latest advances in restorative dentistry techniques to make you as comfortable as you can be while restoring your teeth to a healthy smile.
Causes
When a tooth becomes decayed due to neglect, the bacteria can multiply and spread through the tooth’s tissue into the root canal. The bacteria excretes acid and toxins that damage the tooth tissues, gum tissue, and sometimes the bone, if treatment is not given. An injury to the tooth can crack the enamel, allowing bacteria inside the tooth. Simple tooth decay resulting from neglected dental hygiene can start the decay process.
Symptoms
If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, please call Dr. Latif’s office right away to diagnose the issue:
- Discoloration of the tooth.
- Sensitive Tooth pain.
- Tooth is sensitive or tender to the touch.
- Prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold.
- Drainage from the tooth.
- Swelling of the tooth
If Dr. Latif determines that you do need a root canal to save your tooth and restore it to health, he’ll start by taking an x-ray.
Your dental insurance usually covers some portion of the cost of a root canal & crown. Our team will be happy to check with your insurance company before your procedure begins, to see what portion insurance will cover and what portion you may be responsible for.
